Google tribute to Nobel laureate

Today, 7 September, 2017, is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the pioneering chemist Professor Sir John Cornforth, who spent 13 years at Shell UK’s Milstead Laboratory of Chemical Enzymology, near Sittingbourne, and overcame deafness to win a Nobel Prize in 1975.

His centenary is celebrated by this Google doodle.

The Google doodle celebrates the life of Sir John Cornforth (1917-2013)

He died on 8 December, 2013, and here is The Guardian obituary of him.
